Elaine Lee Camellia (Camellia Sasanqua ‘Elaine Lee’)
Elaine Lee Camellias start showing it’s hardy white, semi-double bloom in fall just as your gardens and landscape start to quiet down.
Averaging a mature
height of 5-6 feet and a width of 3 feet it keeps its beautiful semi-gloss evergreen leaves through the cold months of the year. This variety is a perfect addition to your yard when the chill in the air has set in and you’re looking out a window in the warmth of your home. The Elaine Lee camellia will be producing gorgeous blooms.
Be sure to use a well-drained soil medium when planting any camellia as they prefer less watering than you might think. This deer resistant, drought tolerant, evergreen is a lovely addition to any landscape. Camellias prefer shade to part sun. Good fall color.
The Elaine Lee Camellia is a perfect choice if you desire pure white. However, camellias can be found in various shades of pinks and reds as well. Blooming can occur in late fall, winter or early spring depending on the cultivar.
Rhododendron and azaleas are excellent companion plants for camellias.
